Non-Hermitian physics in nonlinear polariton condensates

Non-Hermitian exceptional points, with their intriguing spectral topology, have attracted considerable attention in a broad range of physical systems, such as in microcavity polaritons. Microcavity polaritons are quasipartials (half-light half-matter), originated from the strong coupling of excitons and photons in semiconductor microcavities. With their nonequilibrium nature and the possibility of both structural and optical control, polariton systems offer a natural playground for the study of non-Hermitian physics in the presence of strong nonlinearity. Especially, the interplay of the nonlinearity and non-Hermiticity in polariton systems can leads to novel physical properties. In this talk, we will introduce the manipulation of the non-Hermitian exceptional points in nonlinear polariton condensates, including the manipulation of vortices, Riemann surfaces, polariton condensation/lasing, and the sensing sensitivity around the exceptional points.
主讲人介绍:
马学凯博士本科毕业于海燕策略斫研究论坛应用物理学专业,博士就读于德国耶拿大学(University of Jena)和帕徳博恩大学(Paderborn University)。读博期间,马博士曾获得2017年度“国家优秀自费留学生奖学金”,并于毕业后继续在帕徳博恩大学从事博士后研究工作。从2022年起,在德意志科学基金(DFG)的资助下,马博士在帕徳博恩大学建立了自己的独立科研小组,并担任Group Leader(等同于助理教授),同时晋升为博士生导师。马博士的科研小组主要从事半导体微腔中激子-极化激元(exciton-polariton)的非线性和拓扑性质的理论研究,从而探索这种新型准粒子在信息处理以及全光操控方面的潜在应用价值。已发表高水平论文50余篇,其中包括Nat. Commun., PRL, JACS, Angewandte Chemie, Nano Letters, Advanced Sciance等高水平论文二十余篇。马博士还长期担任Nat. Commun., PRL, Advanced Science,PRB, OL等期刊审稿人。
